  John moved from Fredrick Co., Md. to Fleming Co., Ky. and then in about 1790 he moved to the north side of the river with his brothers Enos and Erasmus to Clermont Co., Ohio./ John was known as a "very noteable man" in his day. He built his home which was called "Chilo House" on the banks of the river at the upper end of Chilo in about 1802. Chilo House is now a historical site. 1993
